Bald Eagle
Sightings report image

Date: 03/08/2015

Number: 1

There are still a few Bald Eagles around Lethbridge. Our Christmas Bird Count tallied 31 (8 of them immature) on Dec. 21, 2014. These eagles feed mostly off Canada Geese and Mallards that overwinter here on the Oldman River. This particular eagle has been seen many times over the past few weeks at Henderson Lake, which is in the east-central part of the city. Reports are most of the eagles have started drifting north, so it will be interesting to see how long this one stays in Lethbridge.
