We noticed that some of our tulips were now about 1 inch above the ground after the seven inches of snow melted. The tulips that were planted in very hard ground, where the students planted the bulbs barely four inches into the hole, had not emerged from the soil as yet. We were pleasantly surprised to notice that about half the tulips bulbs were already growing above the ground.
