saw 2 in the neighborhood around 9am. They were about a foot apart and appeared to be posturing or similar action towards each other. A couple of hours later, drove thru neighborhood (3/10mi) and saw at least eight in different yards, some were chasing each other. The soil is still defrosting after many weeks of snow cover. Defrost 5 or 6 days now with new weather pattern, plenty of rain in that time and still no earthworms yet.
I did notice a single robin on 3/11 that was pecking in lawn and when the bird made its way to an area under a maple tree, which was first spot to thaw out, the bird hunted, cocked head then pecked lawn handful # times over about 10 minutes
