Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 03/17/2015

Number: 1

Our weather has been cold....had some late freezes a few weeks ago. That has delayed the milkweed but we are seeing the vegetation finally begin to pick up (no milkweed on our lot yet).

It just needs some consecutive days of sunshine and it should catch up. Reports I'm hearing are spotty about native milkweed growth in Central Texas. Even the nectar plants are behind what we normally see at this point.

I think the Monarchs are smart enough to realize the conditions are just not right yet to move North. This seems to be a later Spring than normal....by about a few weeks
