Red-winged Blackbird (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/17/2015

Number: 1

I was sitting at my kitchen table with 2 bird feeders outside the window. I noticed a red winged blackbird fly down to the food that had fallen on the ground ( thanks to the squirrels ), then another and another. There was a whole flock in a nearby tree and slowly they all flew down and were eating the food on the ground. What a sight !! I found they were more beautiful in flight as the red was more pronounced. I was able to count 30 before they were frightened away. They flew as a flock to a tree in a neighbors yard and sat for a few minutes, then all flew away from there.
