I had not yet put out my feeders & looked out my front door windows to see a hummingbird feeding at a basket of orange impatients, so guess it's not true they always go for red flowers, as there was also a basket of red begonias & basket of red striped geraniums on the same plant hanger. Hurried up & made up some hummingbird nectar & hung my feeders out that day. It's possible the little hummer had been around even before I sighted it, as my bottle brush tree has been in full bloom for over a week, as well as other flowers.
