Husband and I were out walking the gardens, of course, and I noticed the tulips I planted in late Oct. 2014 were more than poking through the leaves. When we noticed them they were approximately 4" tall. I know the southern exposure and being planted right up by the house has everything to do with their early emergence. My tulips are planted in this spot for one simple reason, DEER. We live in the woods and have acres of State Game Area right across the street, so yes, we have a lot of DEER. My husband and I agree that it's a good thing we like Narcissus, and have our one little spot that we can grow tulips!
