I saw my first hummingbird of the season today. I heard him yesterday but never laid eyes on him. This is the third year in a row that my first hummingbird was a male black chinned hummingbird. I identified him with binoculars and saw his beautiful purple throat. He has made several trips to the feeder but mostly has been on guard in the trees. I am very excited to have them back. They are so fun to watch.
