5 loons still in winter plumage , on Linikin Bay. Near shore.

1 loon, same, near footbridge in boothbay harbor. Seen diving, surfacing with 2&1/2 inch mussel which it swallowed whole. A winter staple? I suspect the mussel will open due to the warmth of stomach.
