All Other Signs of Spring

Date: 03/31/2015

Number: 1

I have a very early small iris, and I have the first two blooms today. more of my windflowers are blooming. the bleeding hearts are getting more prominent from breaking ground. robins are now very common in our area now, but not at the height of their migration. buds are visible on my early daffodils. my wild columbine has broken ground. the cultivated columbine is about 4 inches tall. I just love spring; especially after our cold winter in eastern central pa. all these plants are on a very sunny area and near the brick house. I am 69 years old and because of arthritis I can no longer plant and take care of all the flower beds I used to have. I still enjoy seeing other flower gardens, especially those with native wildflower. my native columbine just loves the northern side of my house and naturalized like crazy. the winter aconites and some early crocus are at their height. would like to meet other people in my area to see their gardens and give the tips I have learned over the years.
