Monarch (OTHER Observations)
Sightings report image

Date: 04/01/2015

Number: 1

They keep coming….We had this female Monarch nectaring in the prairie verbeena patches on our lot this afternoon
She is somewhat dull and faded and has some wing damage on the lower hindwing
She was observed about 5pm and is still in the area…sunning in trees….and nectaring on the flowers

The asperula we’re finding now is about 7-9” and it is reappearing in all the areas we typically check for return growth

My wife also spotted a Monarch earlier this afternoon but was unable to determine the sex
It was flying about 15-20 feet high travelling from south to north and continued to the north
It quickly crossed our lot and was not interested in any vegetation

Breezy again today and partly cloudy with temperatures in the low 80’s
