Major Stream Restoration Project is starting up on Big Spring Creek just North of town. In the 1960 the stream in this are was straightened to build a Trailer Park to house Boeing employees working on the installation of the ICBM missile project in Central Montana. Now to right a wrong, many agencies including Lewistown Public Schools are working together to complete this project. A similar project was completed in September of 2000 south of town in the Brewery Flats area of Big Spring Creek. Spring Creek is a "Blue Ribbon" trout stream in Central Montana.
