Had my first taste of maple syrup from our sugar maples trees yesterday--straight from the evaporator. Hot and super sweet. It's an unusual year: sap is extra sweet so our neighbor (who taps our trees) is getting 30 gallons of sap to 1 gallon of syrup--as opposed to the usual 40 to 1.
