Saw my first Monarch today at about 11:30am, a little S of Marble Falls, and just E of 281/2147E intersection. It almost flew into my windsheild at Flat Rock Creek. Didn't get a chance to detetmine M/F, but could tell the wing colors were pretty faded after the long winter in Mexico. Nectar flowers a super abundant in the area, but am still not yet seeing native milkweed along the roadsides very much, not like many other years in early April.
HOORAY, one is a GOOD BEGINNING!!
