First sighting, a male about 7:00 pm. After drinking, he perched a couple feet away from the feeder and spent probably 10 minutes preening and cleaning up. After another healthy drink, he took off.
I've had the feeder up for a week or slightly longer, just in case an unseen scout passed thru. Tonight I'll rinse and refill the feeder. Will probably put a second feeder up nearby this weekend. Later in the season, when they're more plentiful and active, I usually have as many as 5 feeders up. The sighting today is right on schedule, consistent with years past.
