Saw the first on snow bank outside our window staring in disbelief at our female holly completely encrusted in hard snow. We cleared away some to reveal the berries he was after. As we also put out cranberries, raspberries and diced apple, we could hear fluttering wings from behind and underneath the bush where he had found a spot where some snow had disappeared. Clever little robin red-breast knew exactly where to go! After all he was here last year. Another was checking the rose bush for hips. The upcoming week promises above freezing temperatures. So much snow here! Will continue to feed.
