Something of interest..I have been feeding birds for 15 years. I've noticed over the winter that there are very few sparrows. I've spent many years removing them from bluebird houses and battling them. I mentioned this to a friend who also stated that she has hardly any, but found 5 dead in bluebird houses4 male and 1 female. Her brother, who lives another direction also has had 1/4 the winter birds as usual. I have tons of cardinals, black capped chickadee's, finches 2 bluebirds and that's about it all winter.
