Sightings report image

Date: 04/06/2015

Number: 1

Temp rose overnight with warm front from south. Brief hard rain before sunrise. Cleared by midmorning. South wind 15-30 mph. Afternoon temp reached mid 80's.

Saw three adult Monarchs at 1810. All flying 10-15 feet from ground near large Ashe Junipers on downwind side. Several times each appeared about to land on the tree, but none did that we saw.

Texas Blue Star, a favored nectar source, is blooming widely. (picture) Many other wildflowers blooming as well.
