The robin nesting in our windowsill has laid 3 eggs in her completed nest. She has laid 1 egg in her abandoned nest. I submitted a report in nesting behaviors that she built two nests about 2 and half feet away from each other on our windowsills. From the research I have found she will abandoned the 1 egg and will incubate the 3. I could not find why she would lay eggs in both nests but I did find it is common for a robin to build more than one nest.
