On, 4/1/2015 a first of season (FOS) Monarch oviposited onto newly planted 2015 cultivar native Milkweed Asclepias tuberosa `Hellow Yellow” as well as emerging non-native A. curassavica along our island’s Landing’s Sparrow Field 150 yard “Pollinator Friendly Area” berm. (photograph submitted)
We have checked religiously beginning since the 4th. Today, 8 April we discovered a 1st instar which I have photographed and posted with this report. Observations also made by Shirley Brown and Sue Hamlet, fellow citizen scientist and volunteers at our Sparrow Field "Bringing Nature Home" project.
