"First monarch spotted in Central Point, OR on April 10, 2015. Hey guys - I was over at the Forest Service nursery today, and decided to stop by the seedbeds of Asclepias speciosa to take a picture of the large sprouts. Of course, I had left my camera and even my cell phone at home to charge and what should just fly up but a monarch butterfly. It flitted around the milkweed sprouts and even lit a couple of times. I couldn't tell if it was a female or not but I'll be watching for caterpillars! April 10th - way early! So, keep your eyes peeled. TDL"
