My Stepfather told me he saw a Monarch yesterday. So, today my son and I decided to spend some time monitoring for Monarchs. I have been in and out most of the day today and I did not see any Monarchs. However, once my son joined me outside to actively monitor for Monarchs one showed up within the first fifteen minutes! It flew low along the grass checking out dandelions and violets but it never stopped long enough to nectar. Within a minute or two it flew off. We continued to monitor for approxmiately an hour and did not see anymore Monarchs during that time.
