Monarch (OTHER Observations)
Sightings report image

Date: 04/13/2015

Number: 1

The last 10 days have been incredible….

We now have over a hundred Monarch eggs and have been having Monarchs visit most every day
Just a few rainy days late last week without sun kept things slow

The spring we are having is one of the best in a number of years….similar to what we had here in 2012
Flowers are incredible and the native milkweed is exploding everywhere right now
A perfect time for the Monarchs to be passing thru Texas

My wife Patricia took this photo of a migrant male in a thistle field near our house
She watched 5-6 Monarchs there nectaring and enjoying the sunshine
That field is also filled with native milkweed and we’ve already seen eggs on it

It’s a great time of the year!
