Robin (WAVE seen)
Sightings report image

Date: 04/13/2015

Number: 16

On April 11 I observed 2 robins, one in my ornamental crab and one about 200 feet away in a tall poplar, alternately singing their true song at one another. Yesterday I saw a flock of approximately 10 robins, and today the number has at least doubled. I can't get a decent picture as the elms (full of robins) and bird bath are at the back of the yard. They have been singing nonstop all day. It sounds most like the "continuous song" but it's impossible to distinguish anyone's individual song. I'm so glad you steered me to the songs because yesterday I heard the "Seeee" before I saw the Kestrel make a swoop at some robins fleeing into the elm. And today a robin flew close overhead making the "Peep and tut" call. What an education this has turned out to be!
