In our flower beds the three species of milkweed we grow are between 2" and 5" tall. On our farm we have about thirty large colonies of milkweed, some over 100' across. The common milkweed in these colonies were about 2" tall last weekend. I mowed these areas off early in March to reduce competition. We have had a wet Spring ... waiting for our first Monarch and hoping for a very successful 2015 migration. The Kentucky Wildflower Farm, Holland, KY.
