Started out the AM with a strip of open water part way through the middle of South Twin lake in Vilas County. Watched ice sheets break off during the afternoon until there was no ice left. Very thrilling to watch. For the past two years ice-out was after opening day of fishing (first weekend in May). So this is wonderful to be open mid-April. Eagles and crows roamed the ice sheets watching for lunch.
