Traveled to Rick Evans Grandview Prairie near Columbus,AR to look for monarchs. The prairie is a blackland restoration and conservation education area owned by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Its GPS location is N33.8035870 W93.8123022. There was an abundance of A. virdis most about 6 - 8 inches tall. Observed a female laying an egg on one of the plants - she chose to lay the egg on the flower buds. The attached picture was taken with a Pentax Optio WG-1 on microscope setting.
