Driving across a section of our town called the causeway which has many sightings of blue herons and occasionally little blue or green, I was caught off guard by the sighting of a Yellow Crowned Night Heron. We don't have them here. I drove around the causeway to clarify what I had seen and also to try and get a picture (impossible) but went home. checked my bird books and that is what it was. Beautiful coloring.
