Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 04/21/2015

Number: 1

Saw several Monarchs one at a time, flying ground level to about 10 feet. No predominant activity. Some looking along ground for food or milkweed, other around trees, others across open grass land.

Same for the several previous days since weather warmed up again.

Milkweed A. asperula now at least many tens of thousands of plants on our property. Also widespread along every highway and county road side. Texas state and counties do not mow roadsides in Spring. Probably started for wildflowers, but works for A. asperula as well. There is never a shortage of Milkweed in Central Texas.
