Milkweed (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/19/2015

Number: 1

Not actually the first Asclepias, but the first Asclepias viridis. A. viridis is relatively unimportant here for spring migration because of late arrival and low numbers compared to A. asclepias.

(Asclepias asperula has been up for a month. Some are now more than three feet across and 18 inches tall. Total plants number in the tens of thousands.)
