We saw our first little male Ruby-throated Hummingbird this morning at about 7:15 a.m. this morning. We are SO thrilled!!! We were getting a little concerned as our first one was spotted on April 11 last year, but this arrival today is more in line with the normal date of first arrival when compared to the records that we have since 2007. He buzzed around our feeders hanging from our patio, then flew across the street. It is SO cold, we are concerned about this little guy. We have had our feeders out since April 1, and have changed the nectar several times since.
