Checking the fields of milkweed in southwest Austin, I found 10 more eggs and my first two baby caterpillars. The milkweed is abundant and growing tall and strong in the thick grasses and wildflowers from the good rains we're having. Keeping en eye on my first chrysalis and a newly forming J.... from an egg and caterpillar found along the roads around Goliad, Texas a couple of weeks ago.
