Today on the hike with 1st graders we spotted small leaves of our common milkweeds here at Metea park. The little kids couldn’t understand why I was so excited. That gave me an opening to tell them the monarch story. I think some will come here later this summer to help with the looking and finding eggs and caterpillars. We monitor over 10,000 milkweed plants and little eye are very good at spotting critters.
