The buds began to form about a week ago and then we had cold weather hit. (The tulips are protected under an eave, full southern exposure yet still I would call it partial shade because we live in the woods.) After a few days and nights of snow, sleet and hale, nothing heavy, and freezing temps they were looking pretty sad. Today the sun is out and it's warmer and they popped open. Aren't plants and Mother Nature amazing?
