Hummingbird, Rufous (FIRST)

Date: 04/26/2015

Number: 2

Hummingbird had fallen into our swimming pool and we don't know how long he had been there but we do know it wasn't a long time. Maybe 15-30 minutes I would guess
We removed him, he seemed dazed probably from cold water and ingesting the water too. I picked him out of the net, got a warm washcloth for him to lay on. I held him for a while, sort of gently stroke and spoke to him and he climbed up on my thumb as I was holding him. I then laid him on a cloth less likely to catch on him tiny feet and put him in the morning sun to warm up. He seemed to have eyes shut, was tipping head back and forth. He was rust colored all over body are, iridescent throat of orange, with a tiny bit of green on top of head and top part of little winds. I have a picture but it is on my phone and am not sure how to share it.
