We have had a 2nd generation of monarch adults (developed on backyard milkweeds) beginning to emerge from pupa. However, the 2 adults we have seen on 4/28 and 4/29 have had malformed wings and could not fly. A third pupa is developing under eaves and we will see how it does.
We had another monarch with similar malformed wings from our first generation last month. This is troubling and I'm not sure the reason. We have had lots of rain and wind. The larvae and pupae seem to be a little small, based on previous years' experiences.
