The tulips emerged while we were gone over spring break. We returned to find them poking out of the ground. The leaf edges were pinkish-purple. We were amazed that some came up in pairs and seemed connected. We noticed that the outer leaves seemed to cover the smaller leaves. The leaves were harder than we expected when they first emerged.
