IF first generation* monarchs are on the move today - and like a good tail wind - they should be sailing into northern KS, MO and maybe even IA today. If you go from S to N ,the winds in TX are coming from the SE and the progressively shift so as to come from the S and SW. Except for rains and adverse winds here and there, conditions should favor movement rapid movement of first gen monarchs to the N and NE this coming week.
Although there may still be overwintered monarchs lingering in a few places, most will have completed their lives by the 1st of May.
*First generation - refers to the offspring of the monarchs that returned from Mexico.
