was spotted around 0900 am sitting in a tree next to our pasture, large male, he was there when I drovbe west on township road 624 on the way into town for a few things, was there when we came back, 15 minutes later. We parked and tried to get closer for a pic but he flew off south across the pasture... Huge wing span , not a small specimen hard to gauge his age but he was magnificent to see in flight! Have seen quite a few of these birds in and around this neck of the woods for years.....there is a know mating pair that hangs around nests somewhere around the creek that runs through the airbase used to see them flying up and down the valley as my wquarters where backed onto the creek for 14 years before I retired and moved off base.
