A spectacular male Ruby Throated Hummingbird whirred past my head while I was sitting beside a patch of red and yellow tulips.

He was as surprised to find me there, as I was to see him, and I
was sad that I had frightened him away from his food source. However, he came around again to find that I had put out the sugar water feeders, which he happily enjoyed.
