Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 05/05/2015

Number: 1

We have been observing a surge in our hummer activity this week more like fall migration than nesting season. We have about 12 feeders up, some spread out and some in a cluster. There have been 10-15 (mostly males) fighting and sometimes sharing feeders and flowers during light hours at each feeder. Exciting to see so many during this time of year! Might even try to handfeed some this year. I normally only keep our 6ish feeders this time of year until migration then up it to about 20. But have added more out there already to accommodate the masses :) Fun times here in southeast Texas!
