Last night, Wednesday, May 6, 2015, I had my first Male Ruby-throated hummingbird of the 2015 Season! He went to my little custom feeders like a pro! I don't have any red ribbons or anything else as an attractant on the feeders this year. My second visitor came this morning at 7:03AM, but I couldn't identify it as male or female. I had spooked it off of the feeders and I only saw it in silhouette. Later though at 10:40AM I definitely had my first Female Ruby-throated hummingbird of the 2015 Season! I finished putting out all 27 double shepherd's hooks about an hour ago. I should have worn sunscreen! Seeing how quickly I got burned I'm hesitant to put my overwintered plants outside today in this beautifully bright, baking sun day.
