Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/13/2015

Number: 1

Today at 3:58 first sighting so brief I could see it for no more than a few seconds. Every year I see them on Mother's Day this year not a sign. They were late and only saw one for seconds leaving the feeder today. Our weather is very abnormal and the weather has not been like this in my twenty years at this location. This is late to see a first sighting and to see it so briefly and only one is strange. Like the cold strange weather nothing in Nova Scotia pertaining to nature has been the same this year. Hope they survive with the lack of plants, definitely not a flower to be found , no leaves on the trees and windy cold weather. Only this week our snow has finally melted. I worry about the well being of the tiny treasures our hummingbirds are and how our changing climate will affect them.
