Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/15/2015

Number: 1

The Virginia Living Museum AKA Monarch Waystation #299 reports the first adult monarch of the season, sighted around 2 pm today, behind the Wason Education Building. The male monarch has "adopted" the milkweed patch near the Amphitheater, and is nectaring on the holly and basking on the common milkweeds in the patch. The milkweeds are in bud, not in bloom yet. Male is in good condition, so probably a 1st generation monarch. Welcome! May you live long and prosper here!
