I am reporting the lack of butterfly proifiiration in our area. Usually this time of year we see an explosion of butterflies of all types. I have been watching my flowers and clover patch. I have not seen the butterflies that visit; the swallow tail, fritillaries, white cabbage, etc. Also have not seen one honey bee this year! I have a farm report that the honey bee is in rapid decline due to over use of pesticides, invasion of a mite and other reasons. I am making a bee feeder out of a poultry watering bottle. Just mix with water and sugar like you do for a hummingbird and set it out where you can watch but not get stung. put gravel in the trough for the bees to stand on.
