Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/24/2015

Number: 1

Searching for milkweeds on the shore of lake erie, I had my first sighting of a Monarch Butterfly. The beach area is used for conservation of plant and animal species. There are lots of milkweeds. I had no camera sorry. Seems like it had just arrived from over the lake. The wind was warm and SW. Sun shining.

This may be a duplicate sighting as I tried using the neighbour's laptop, which had a lot of glare on the screen. I have been following a lot of internet Monarch sights and facebook this winter, so I am positive this was a Monarch. Unfortunately, it was flying too fast to determine the sex.
Talking to another visitor in the area, she too spotting her first Monarch in Chatham city. They have a backyard pond that the butterflies come to feast on the minerals on the edge of the pond.
Thank you.
