On 5/25, I had a possible Monarch sighting! While I couldn't get close enough to make a definitive confirmation, the flight pattern appeared unmistakeable--a flit flat then leisurely glide. Appeared a little small but I was a distance away. As I tried to get nearer, it took flight from my lawn to disappear in a field of mixed grasses and milkweed. If this was indeed a Monarch, it is very early for recent years, and a good sign for the summer.
