I saw 2 monarch butterflies at the same time in our field around 1:00pm. One just flew around and left. The other landed and stayed on 3 different little milkweed plants, between 4" and 6" tall. It did not seem to be looking for flowers. I then checked the underside of the leaves on each plant but found no eggs. Cloudy; the wind is strong today from the SW, temperature high 60s.
