Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 05/28/2015

Number: 1

I watched a monarch laying many eggs on my mature, blooming milkweed, asclepias curassavica, that I planted last year. It also was drinking from the flowers and also from my butterfly bush, Buddleia, Davidii. 5-28-15, around 12:30 PM. I was very happy to see it show up, since we aren't exactly in its migration path, just on the fringe. (I attempted to upload a picture of it laying eggs, but not sure if I succeeded.)
