Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 05/28/2015

Number: 1

Finally! First confirmed Monarch sighting by my boys and myself. Unknown gender due to the 21 mph south wind. It's partly sunny with a current temp of 77. Had a little rain this morning with isolated thunderstorms expected tonight. I have dwarf Korean lilacs in bloom and my milkweed is ready. Hope to get a better, less windy sighting and a photo next time.

Later in the day: Here is a photo to go with my first monarch sighting of the season I saw earlier today. I believe the one my boys and I saw earlier was this same one, a male. I didn't have any visit my milkweed, no eggs yet. I also had one eastern tiger swallowtail, one black swallowtail, ans some red admirals, all nectaring on my dwarf korean lilacs.
